I deleted the whole project

I made a HUGE mistake. I tried to do version control using unity and I thought I was doing the initial upload of files. Before I knew it.. my whole project was gone and all my files were corrupted. While I am unsure how to recover them and have checked everywhere for a fix, I want to take this as an opportunity to fix what went wrong and properly set-up my version control before starting over. While I technically had a lot done, I also had not very much at all. I am going to try and take my time and do everything as right as I can. I think I might use godot instead.
